Late September through Halloween weekend is one of the busiest stretches of the year for group apparel in Orange County, and it sneaks up on people. Trunk-or-treat committees, HOAs, breweries, schools, and small businesses all end up calling us the same week in October wanting matching shirts "by this weekend." It's doable, but it's a lot less stressful (and a lot cheaper per shirt) if you lock in your order a few weeks out instead of a few days out.

We pulled together the fall and Halloween projects we get asked about most, with the decoration method that actually makes sense for each one. If you're planning something for the next six weeks, here's where to start.

1. Trunk-or-Treat Crew Shirts

HOAs, churches, and neighborhood groups running a trunk-or-treat event usually want one bold design that reads well from a distance in the dark, porch lights and string lights aren't great for fine detail. We push these toward simple 1-2 color screen printing on a bright color (orange, black, or lime) so the design pops under string lights and stays legible in every photo parents take that night.

2. Matching Family or Friend Group Costumes

This is our favorite kind of order because people get genuinely creative, pun costumes, "cast of characters" shirts, or a family theme across six different sizes from toddler to adult XXL. DTF printing is the right call here: full color, no minimum order per design, and it holds up fine for a one-night costume that might see a little candy and a little rain.

3. School & Classroom Halloween Spirit Days

Elementary and middle schools running a "boo-tiful" spirit week or grade-level costume parade need shirts fast, in bulk, on a school budget. Screen printing wins on cost once you're past 24-36 pieces, and we can usually turn a simple one-color design in about a week when we get the order in by early-to-mid October.

4. Brewery & Restaurant Staff Shirts for Fall Events

If you're running an Oktoberfest tie-in, a fall beer release, or a Halloween bar crawl stop, your staff needs to be easy to spot in a packed room. We usually recommend a heavier weight tee or long-sleeve with a chest logo plus a bigger back graphic, something that still looks good as the person walks away from the table.

5. Corporate "Fall Fun Day" & Client Gift Merch

Some of our business clients skip costumes entirely and use October as an excuse for a low-key branded refresh, a fall-colored quarter-zip, a pumpkin-spice-adjacent hoodie color, or a small embroidered patch on a beanie. It's a nice way to hand out something seasonal without it feeling like a Halloween costume at the office.

6. Youth Sports & Booster Club Fall Merch

Fall sports season overlaps with Halloween, so we get a steady stream of orders combining a team logo with a Halloween-ish twist, think a mascot in a pumpkin, or "trick or treason" for a rival game week. These usually run through the same booster club channels as regular spirit wear, just with a seasonal design swap.
