Every November, the same thing happens. A vendor spends weeks perfecting a candle, a hot sauce or a line of handmade jewelry, then shows up to the Saturday market in a plain gray hoodie and a handwritten sign. Ten feet away, the booth with matching shirts, a branded apron and a stack of printed totes has a line.
Holiday markets, boutique fairs and pop-up weekends across Orange County kick off in just a few weeks. Here are seven things we'd print before your first booth day, based on what we see local sellers order every season.
1. Matching staff tees, so customers know who to ask
In a crowded aisle, shoppers look for the person who works there. A simple one-color screen print on the chest, your logo on the back, and suddenly you look like a real brand instead of a folding table. Pick a dark color so it hides cocoa spills and tape residue.
2. An apron with real pockets
If you sell food, plants or handmade goods, an embroidered canvas apron keeps cash, a card reader and a pen within reach. Embroidery won't crack after a hundred wash cycles, which matters when you run weekend after weekend.
3. Tote bags as your free advertising
Customers need something to carry your goods in. A heavyweight cotton tote with your logo in a bold color leaves your booth, goes to the next stall and then to the grocery store. At 50 or 100 pieces, screen printing makes the cost per bag very small.
4. Beanies for chilly evening markets
Orange County nights drop fast in December. A beanie with a small embroidered logo patch is a quick add-on sale and keeps you warm at the 7pm lantern walk.
5. A limited-run holiday design
Scarcity sells. A design printed just for this season, in a small batch of 24 to 48 pieces, gives people a reason to buy now. DTF transfers let us print small runs in full color without screen setup fees, so you can test a design before committing to a bigger order.
6. Hoodies for the vendor team and for sale
A midweight hoodie is the workhorse of winter merch. Wear one yourself and it advertises; stock a few sizes and it becomes your highest margin item.
7. Packaging details that match
Not everything has to be wearable. Stickers, tags and tissue wrap that echo your shirt colors make the whole booth feel intentional. We can match your brand colors across garments so the table looks cohesive.
Quick guide: what to print for your booth
| Item | Best decoration | Why it sells |
|---|---|---|
| Booth tee (staff uniform) | Screen print or DTF | Doubles as a walking billboard all day |
| Aprons for food and craft sellers | Embroidery or screen print | Pockets hold cash and card readers |
| Tote bags | Screen print | Cheap, bold, and every customer carries one out |
| Beanies and caps | Embroidery | Great impulse add-on in cold evening markets |
| Limited-run holiday tee | DTF | Small batches, no size guessing |
| Hoodies | Screen print or embroidery | Best margin item for winter weekends |
The calendar that matters
Most booth orders need about 7 to 10 business days from approved artwork, and the weeks before Thanksgiving fill up quickly. If your first market is the weekend after Thanksgiving, start your artwork in the next couple of weeks. A fast mockup now beats a rush fee later.
Three quick tips before you order
- Order one extra size run. Vendors always have a friend or helper show up last minute.
- Keep your logo to one or two colors for the lowest cost per piece.
- Ask for a digital mockup first, so you can post a sneak peek and build buzz.
